News and Events

Chairman, John Williams and committee member, Ralph Assor, recently had a meeting with the Inspector of Railways to discuss the health & safety problems. The Inspector stated that the station had "step-free access" and abided by all the safety measures. He, however stated that there could be improvements to entry/exit road to the car park.
Stanmore Society's Committee is continuing its campaign to get a lift installed in Stanmore Station, despite its recent set backs. Our complaint is that the station does not conform to "Health & Safety" regulations. There is a petition which all interested will be asked to sign and you will find one that you can PRINT from this website. Also, which is vitally important, is that we invite users to write in giving their personal experiences of using the station.and why also other persons avoid travelling from Stanmore. .When completed please send to Bob Leuw, 14 The Spinney, Stanmore. HA7 4QJ (don't forget to get your neighbours, friends and acquaintances to sign as well and inform us of their experiences.) See picture above of the 45 steps staircase.
August 2010: The Report on Stanmore Station which the Society has carried out is now nearly complete.
