Harrow Nature Conservation upcoming events

Exploring Nature
Harrow Council is working with the Biological Recording Company to run a series of training events from now through 2027. These are aimed at existing volunteers and early career conservationists and students, as well as members of the public who after the training will volunteer on recording and surveying sessions on Harrow sites. There is no charge to participants. Click here for an overview of the program. Two training sessions are coming up soon:
Tuesday 20th October 2026: Biological Recording 101. Learn how to turn your wildlife observations into valuable data and get to grips with iRecord. Click here for more information.
Monday 2nd November 2026 Fungi Field Recorder Day. Learn about, finding, identifying and recording fungi in an informal setting. Click here for more information.
Conservation Working Parties
Three sites have regular working parties. Those who have attended before will know where to meet and what to expect. If you have not been before please register via the website or contact the wardens so that they know to look out for you. If you email and get no response email admin@harrownc.org.uk.
Stanmore Common: Every Wednesday and every Sunday, 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM (although there is no compulsion to stay until the end). Click here to register or email stanmore_common@harrownc.org.uk.
Newton Farm Ecology Park: Every Saturday morning, 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Click here to register or email lesliebolsover@yahoo.co.uk.

Lady Gilbert's Orchard, located within Old Redding nature reserve, on Saturday October 3rd, 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM (although there is no compulsion to stay until the end). Old Redding is a big site, very varied; within it is this lovely old orchard with some rare varieties. Click here to learn more and to register, or email coombesfamily@tiscali.co.uk.
