"Drop and Go" huge success

· Frontpage,Events

Queues formed outside Stanmore Recreation Ground yesterday morning ahead of the recycling event organised by Harrow Council. Along with members of the recycling team, several councillors, representatives from The Stanmore Society, Friends of Stanmore Recreation Ground, Harrow Litterpickers, Ramblers Harrow Health Walks and Wellbeing Walks were in attendance to show their support for the event.

Over 3 tonnes of waste (6 trucks worth) were collected on the day, varying from large pieces of furniture to electronic devices.

As well as getting the ability to recycle on their doorstep, members of the public could find out more about the work of local groups in the area and get new food waste bins in an effort to increase household recycling. The council mentioned that similar events will occur across the whole borough in the future.

Thank you to the team at Harrow Council for organising this event.
