Petition: Require large housing development applications to be made as full applications

· Planning

There is a petition that may be of interest to members and the wider community:

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/764781

It states:

Require all large (25+) housing development applications to be full detailed applications, not outline which feature an artists impression and vague description of what’s planned. The current system can prevent crucial infrastructure need from being correctly assessed, e.g Schools, health, transport

Large-scale applications are often submitted in ‘outline’ form, with an artist’s impression and vague description. Detailed plans then follow later. This means the public and statutory bodies are asked to comment before key facts are known, such as housing numbers, bedroom mix, population mix and design. Infrastructure needs for S106, CIL, NHS, education and water are therefore estimates. Full details should be submitted up front for proper consultation and sound decisions.
